Politics

Politics is a very sticky operation. Politicians lie and will do anything to win and once they win they won't do anything that they promised to do. Although there are some really good politicians that do their best to make sure that they do what they promised to do in their campaign (Barack Obama).

Abortion

Abortion is a subject that no one likes to bring up. I think that abortion is wrong and i would never do it and I would never advise anyone else to do it because there is always another option on the table. I do believe that there are some instances where that's what you feel you have to do but think about what the person inside of you would think.

Religion

Religion is important to my family because my family was raised and brought up in the church. Some people are confused and don't really know whats real and what not. The only way to solve this problem is to ask for guidance and strength so that you can see the truth so that you can be lead down the right path.

Teen Pregnancy/Violence

I think that there is only one excuse for teen pregnancy and that is rape. I hat to be so raw but everybody that has enough since to lay down and have sex should also have the since to protect themselves. There really isn't to much that you can say about that except that teens need to go to their parents and ask questions if they fell that they are ready to take it that far. Violence in teens is another subject that is very touchy. No one deserves to be beaten or bruised up by any man at all no matter the substances or situation. Any man that puts his hands on a woman is merely a PUNK!

Race in America

Some people may say that race has disappeared but me myself I know that it is indeed walking on earth among us all. Racism isn't always just black and white, it exist amongst Asians, Mexicans and so many other races. Some Mexican are reduced to only construction work when we all know that the son of a Mexico City shopkeeper has built a staggering $59 billion fortune by the name of Carlos Slim. So you never know what one may become so don't just see them for their race or intelligence.

My Most Interesting Thanksgiving Experiance

My most interesting thanksgiving experience was the thanksgiving of 07. It was just me my mom, my step-dad and my siblings. I know most people want the whole family to be together but it felt good to be able to have a normal fun thanksgiving where we could all have a decent conversation. Me and my sisters helped my mom cook. We had so much food left so we took it to the other family members. I would prefer to have every thanksgiving that way so I can spend it with the people who I am most thankful for and I know that they are thankful for each other too.

The Ron Clark Story

The Ron Clark Story was a very very good movie it was very instrumental to the way that a person can see education. Mr.Clark was a very hands on teacher, he believed in each and every one of his 6th graders when nobody else did. The principal of the school told Me. Clark to give it up because the kids didn't really want to learn. Mr. Clark worked really hard to try and make the kids learn everything that was on the test even when they were counting down the days until he would just go and give up. This movie really helped me in a lot of ways seeing that i want to become a teacher and it let me know that all kids is need is someone to look up to, someone that really cares, and someone who sill just take the time and show them that you want them to succeed.

Career Fair

On Thursday November 5 2009 mw and me classmates went to the Columbus and Convention trade center to attend a career fair. There were two different schools to choose from.The choices were Albany State Univerity or Fort valley University. Of course seeing that we all had our heads screwed on right we attended Albany State University the home of the GOLDEN RAMS! I was so excited to be there I had so much fun. I have always wanted to go to ASU since I was in the 9th grade and to beb apart of just that was awesome. They are truly a family they are really concerned about the well-being and the education of their students. All the proffessors seem friendly I just cant wait to attend. I say that because I know for a fact that I am going and I wont stop applying and studying until I do. They gave us some interesting facts about the school, they also gave out door prizes. We recieved alot of information on financial aid and things that can help us pay for college. Overall I had a lot of fun and I truly wish to attend ASU in the fall so that I can be a GOLDEN RAM!

Servants or Leaders

I believe that I am both a leader and a servant. I am a leader because I like to take charge of a situation. I like to think that I have very good leadership. I like to be the one to give orders and take responsibility for any work that i participated in or that I helped control. I am also a servant because I like to help people. I like to give back to the community. I hate to see people not having the things that they need. If I have something and someone less fortunate needs it more I will give it to them with no strings attached. I have the mentality to give the shirt off my back to anyone in need.The reason why I think that I am both are because I am a very kindhearted person who is always willing to lend a helping hand,but I am also ready to take charge.

Guest Speaker

On Thursday October 15, 2009 we had two visitors by the names of Ms.Mary and Ms.Nicky. They came and talked to us about the importance of knowing your stuff when it comes to moving in to your own apartment. Ms.Nicky talked to us most of the time and she shared with us some very important information on what to do and what not to do when looking for an apartment.The information that they shared with us was very vital, they were things that people generally overlook when filling out the the lease agreement. I was very excited that they came and talked to us because they told us that there can be more than one leaseholder and you can only have 2 people to a bedroom and tons more. They taught us to to read the information that we are agreeing to and to never sign a blank document.

Respect

Respect is an attitude of admiration. Respect is earned not given. In order to get respect you have to give respect, which means show kindness to all and they will indeed return the favor. Although there are some who are stubborn those are the ones who choose to work super hard to gain respect.Respect is a sense of excellence of, a person a persons ability.Overall respect is a quality that not many people have and once you obtain it you will do just fine in all that you do because a respectable person is a responsible person.

River Road Pharmacy catches fire

The River Road pharmacy caught on fire on Sunday night. Some witnesses saw the smoke at 5100 River Road at about 9:30 p.m. At 10:p.m there was a large cloud of grey smoke that was coming up from the sides of the building. Two fireman were injured during the fire. One suffered from smoke exhaustion and the other suffered from third-degree burns to the face. The fire took almost all night to be put out but at least there was as least injuries as possible. They Firefighters dont really know if it was arsen or not but they hope to find out later on in the day as they clean up more of the debree.

Kanye West's Outburst

One of my favorite rappers acted like a total and complete idiot on last night at the live VMA show we all know him as Kanye West. I really love West I am a very big fan of his and what he did last night to poor nineteen year old Taylor Swift was so tacky and distasteful. Well let me tell you exactly what he did, Beyonce and Taylor Swift were both nominated for best video along with a few other very good artist who all deserved to win,but when it all came down to it the fans voted that Taylor Swift had the best video. This was Taylor Swifts first ever moon man ( VMA award). I can only imagine how important it must have been to her.Once they called her name out she was so excited because she is a country singer and it was very very important to her that she won it. During her acceptance speech Kanye West came up to her and took the microphone out her hand and said "I'm sorry Taylor no disrespect but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time". Taylor of course was feeling very awkward and his big scene caused them to cut her speech short and show a sketch. In the end when Beyonce on she let Taylor Swift take her place and give her speech because she said she knew how important receiving your first award can be.

Barack Obama's Education Speech

Barack Obama spoke a encouraging speech to the students of America. To me the speech was very serious and heartfelt you could feel that he really cared about our education and didn't just want to be talking for show.I don't understand why most parents didn't want it shown in school because we are the children what he does with education affects us more than the parents because we are the ones that are still attending school not them, anyway like I said before the speech was very good. President Obama gave us examples of ways that we can achieve our set goals in school by studying, which we already knew it just sounds better coming from the president. The speech was special to me because I felt like he was talking directly to the students and it was just awesome I wish I could have heard the speech buit who knows maybe next time he will be at Kendrick.

Columbus Man Accused of Growing Weed.

Some police officers were call to a location known as 3614 Third Avenue at 8:30 because there was said that 51 year old Isaac Brundidge was growing weed in his backyard. What I am thinking is why in the world is anybody in his backyard. When the police came he was standing in the backyard and he tried to lie and say that he didn't live there. As the police were talking to him they spotted a shed with no roof and the door had a crack in it,through the crack in the door they saw what looked like pot plants. He then confessed and said it was his house and opened the shed so the officers could get a closer look and it was indeed nine plants growing in his shed. Brundidge told officers he didnt smoke weed he was just experimenting to see how it was grown. Police werent buying it they charged him with manufacturing marijuana and booked into the Muscogee County Jail, records state. What a mess!

Cell Phone Policiy

To me the new cell phone policy is just a little too much, its just another thing that the school board wanted to pick at because they had nothing better to do. They are treating cell phones as if they were some kind of illegal substance in the school.They even went so far as to print out forms for parents and students to sign stating that they understand the new cell phone procedures which is just crazy and a waste of trees because nobody even cares about this new policy because I know I don't. Cell phones are used for emergency's and what do you think your teacher is going to do when something happens and you've taken up everybody Else's phone and you don't have any service? Yeah its something to think about even though it is a what if question, but hey it can happen.
